Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's new DLC 'Rise' has finally hit stores for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This is the third major update to come out since the game launched last year back in November.

As expected from a Call of Life title, this latest batch brings along some fresh guns and gear for players to get their hands on. Among these new additions are two brand-new multiplayer weapons: The 'MPK' assault rifle that has been leaked online already; as well as an SMG called 'The Ak-47', which we'll dive into later down below.

In addition to all this gunfodder goodness, players can also expect a whole host of other new content. This includes three brand-new multiplayer maps set in various locations around the world - including a futuristic cityscape called 'Frontier', an abandoned Soviet base named 'Raven' (which looks rather familiar actually), plus lastly there's 'Vigilance' which takes place on top of some high-rise buildings overlooking what appears to be downtown New York City at night time.

Lastly, players who pre-order the 'Black Ops III: Zombies Origins Bundle', will receive a few extra bonus items including an exclusive in-game emote called 'Zombie Grenade Thrower', plus also two more weapon skins for use within the game's campaign mode.

As always with Activision titles like this one though - there are some caveats at play here too. To get access to all of these new goodies, you'll need to either purchase them separately via microtransactions OR pre-order a specific edition of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3 first before they unlock naturally through normal gameplay progression.

Overall speaking however I think most fans will find plenty reason enough justify splashing out some extra cash for this latest batch of fresh content - especially given how much variety there seems to be on offer across both singleplayer & multiplayer modes alike now.
